Message de nos camarades de Birzeit

L’UNEF-Evry entretient de bonnes relations avec une organisation étudiante progressiste de l’Université de Birzeit (Palestinian Youth Union). Après les événements du samedi 26 février, nous avons immédiatement contacté nos amis palestiniens pour leur apporter notre soutien. Voici l’e-mail que nous avons reçu mercredi 8 mars.

Hi Guirec, well you must have been serprised to hear about what happened about 2 weeks ago here at BZU,... well Jospin made a real bad decleration about the resistance which we are all as arabs (and espeicially as palestinians) are proud of. The students here made a demonstration but throwing stones wasn’t included!!! some students were way out of line by doing that. On the other hand the palestinian authority didn’t deal with what happened in a proper way, they resized the whole thing and many students were arrested, and even tourtchered in the palistinian prisons which was really bad. Here at the university we had a strike for about a week to free our fellow students, in the last 2 days of the demonstration we declared a food strike, that was last saturday, after all the presure on the authority all the students were freed late sunday night. And now 4 of them are waiting for a trial, which we won’t allow to take place, because it’ s going to be more like they need specific persons to blame.... i’ll keep you up to date i have to go now say hi to everybody.

  • Après avoir illuminé, la Tour Eiffel, Boston, Le Mur de Chine et j’en passe, J.M.Jarre avec 1000 artistes a fait briller de mille feux les Pyramides du Caire, dans un superbe brouillard. Cette année, il tentera un son et lumière sur la station Mir ; au moins là haut il ne fera chier personne avec son concert du Siècle.

  • Comme R.Barre a déclaré avoir fumé de l’opium quand il était jeune, Jean-Louis Debré ne pourra plus dire : « Après la gauche caviar, la gauche pétard». Mais, peut-être aurait-il du s’y essayer puisque R.Barre est reconnu comme l’un des plus grands économistes de France.

  • Bonne nouvelle. Boris Eltsine a décidé de quitter le pouvoir. Imaginez un gars aussi chargé en vodka que le peloton du Tour de France en EPO ; il faut avouer que c’est quand même dangereux.
